Richland County man’s murder charge reduced to misprision of a felony.

Barry Reed, a Richland County resident, charged with murder, attempted murder, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime for an incident that occurred in Richland County on March 22, 2017. Harpootlian Law took the case and advocated aggressively for Mr. Reed throughout the pre-trial process. On the morning of his trial in 2021, the Richland County Solicitor’s office offered a plea to a lesser offense and, through negotiations with the State, Mr. Reed ultimately pled to a misdemeanor and received probation.
